Biography

Sharad Joshi, born in Kathmandu, Nepal  comes from a musical family. Sharad started playing guitar at the age of 13. His musical journey began after taking basic guitar lessons with Nhyoo Bajracharya and Phiroj Shyangden

From the high school time, he performed on the regular basis with various musicians and solo artists in different styles like: Pop, Rock, Funk, Blues, Thrash Metal, Fusion etc. To name some: Nhyoo Bajracharya, Ani Choying Dolma, Satya-Sworoop Aacharya, Jagdish Samal, Bhanubhakta Dhakal, Yogeshwor Amatya etc.

He has also played in many bands like: Genes, Sonic Symphony, A-four, Limestone, Bramhanaad, and Emergency.

Besides performances, he has been giving guitar lesson for many years. He has worked for various years in Music school: Do Re Mi Music School and elementary schools:
Triyog High School, Elites Co. Ed. en Alok Vidhyashram in Kathmandu.

Learning Never Stops”  After taking some masterclasses with jazz pianist Sharad Gurung and jazz guitarist Mike Kaplan from U.S.A., his interest in jazz Music grew more and more. To broaden his horizon in he joined the conservatory at Utrecht, The Netherlands in 2009 and recieved his Bachelor of Music diploma (Performance and Production & Pedagogy) in 2013.

He took guitar lessons from Marcel Karreman, Eef Albers and Wim bronnenberg during his study.
